Pacific Rim's Bolinas Cloud "Lexi"

Princess Lexi

My Name is Lexi Hunt and This is My Family

My family lives in Los Gatos, California.  It consistsof Steve, the Dad who works as a commercial real estate brokerand my lap to sleep on in the evening.  Lexi's dad and oldest sisterNext is Allison, the Mom, who is a Marriage, Family Therapist by profession butis currently helping Steve launch a new web site, officeforlease.com.  Allisonruns with me in agility and is also a competitive master swimmer.  Hilaryis my human sister; she is 16 and a junior in high school.  Sheis looking into college, but only wants to stay in California.  Hilaryis a competitive swimmer (like mom) and would like to swim incollege.  AustinAustin,my human brother, just turned 14 and is in 8th grade.  Heloves the San Jose Sharks Hockey Team and follows them very closely.  Austinis president of his 8th grade class and plays roller hockey ona travel team.

My family first heard about Farmdogs from a close friend ofmy mom's who had seen Suzy Stub Butt run in agility. Momhad contacted her friend after the loss of her Jack Russell/WelshCorgi mix because she loved the energy but wanted a dog withan “off switch”.  Mom read the breed description and itwas like someone had written the perfect dog description.  Momreally wondered if the perfect dog could really exist.  Afterdigging around and a lengthy phone conversation with Melody,Mom was referred to Carol Lemmon, my human grandma. I was livingwith her, my Farmdog mom, Annika, and my littermates (Lego, Blondieand Dottie). I was about 4 weeks old.  Grandma Carol andmy mom had a lengthy discussion, and soon after mom came to meetme, and the rest is history. Mom says that the perfect breedhad been found. I have to agree if I say so myself.

Sleeping with HileryIcame into the Hunt family on November 17, 2006 when I was elevenweeks old.  It was one of the best days ever!!!  Momsays that I have clearly evolved into a family member, even downto where I choose to sleep.  I allow Hilary to share myqueen size bed.  The routine is amazing.  I usuallyget in under the covers first, then Hilary slides in and I movesover, doing a great job of bed warming for Hilary, just likethe breed description says.  I typically sleep in untilabout 9, the latest was this past Thanksgiving when Hilary andI emerged at 11:45, yawning and stretching.

Seal

I love to play, like all my Farmdogs friends since the momentI came to live in the Hunt family home.  When I was a youngpup, we used to play hide and seek games. My mom thinks thatshe was training me to achieve a good recall.  Now, I playa lot of tug and chase.  One of my funniest moves is whatthe family calls the “Seal”. You can see it here with a balloon.  Momhas been teaching me to do it on command.  When I was alittle pup we did many rounds of obedience training, then movedon to agility.  We spent nearly a year on foundation workwith no equipment, then moved on the equipment very slowly asyoung Farmdogs are not developed enough to stress themselvesat the human’s request.  However, this did not stop me frommy favorite game of chasing a black squirrel in our backyardand bounding up and down our retaining wall.  I love tospend my afternoons hopping around the backyard like a rabbitchasing butterflies!!

Lexi and LegoIam lucky in that I get to see my brother, Lego, often for playdates and I always search for treats in Aunti Tonya’s pockets.  Shethinks that she can hide them but I know right where to look.  Ialso have another very close friend who is featured with me onthe March Farmdog calendar page. She is a Golden Retriever namedMaggie.  Mom says that we are really a treat to watch play,Maggie is always very careful not to land on me!!

Kisses at ChristmasMyhuman family thinks that finding out about Farmdogs and livingin my house is a daily pleasure.  The joy and laughter thatI bring to our family is amazing, not to mention the unconditionallove I give them all.  The tail wagging can bring the lowestof spirits up, not to mention my kisses to all and ear cleaningsto Steve.  The Farmdog is the best kept secret that hopefullywill get discovered only by those who can truly appreciate usfor the amazing canine we truly are!!
